International Congress for Qualitative Research & Theory Methodologies

30 Days. Global Voices. No Barriers.

October 1-30, 2026

The International Congress for Qualitative Research and Theory Methodologies (ic-QRTM) is the annual global conference of the Institute for Research and Theory Methodologies (RTM). It brings together researchers, faculty, students, and practitioners from across disciplines and countries to share methodological innovation, engage in scholarly dialogue, and advance qualitative, multi-method, mixed-method, and grounded theory research. ic-QRTM operates as a fully virtual, open-access scholarly dissemination platform. All sessions are publicly available through RTM’s digital archive, extending the educational impact of the conference far beyond the live event.

About ic-QRTM

IC-QRTM is designed to advance methodological excellence and global scholarly engagement in qualitative and multi-method research traditions. Unlike traditional academic conferences, ic-QRTM functions as a continuing digital knowledge ecosystem, where presentations are not limited to a single event window but remain accessible as part of an evolving educational archive. The conference emphasizes:

  • Methodological rigor and innovation
  • Cross-disciplinary dialogue
  • Global accessibility and inclusion
  • Mentorship and scholarly development
  • Open dissemination of research knowledge
IC-QRTM serves as a key platform for building international scholarly connections and supporting the development of researchers at all stages of their careers.

Voices in Community:

Weaving Qualitative Inquiry Across Lands & Traditions

A Global Movement in Qualitative Research

Qualitative inquiry is not singular. It is shaped by place, culture, relationships, and ways of knowing. Weaving Across Lands & Traditions reflects a commitment to bringing diverse approaches into conversation—honoring both shared purpose and meaningful difference.

This includes methodological traditions grounded in academic disciplines as well as those rooted in community, culture, and lived experience. We recognize that some ways of knowing—particularly Indigenous and relational approaches—are deeply connected to land, story, and community. These approaches are not positioned as additions, but as essential contributions to the broader dialogue of qualitative inquiry. ic-QRTM creates space for multiple ways of knowing to exist alongside one another with respect, care, and intentional listening.
